Soludo is not on ground at home, Aguata stakeholders decry
Some All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) major political heavyweights from Aguata Local Government Area have decried the absence of political structures for the party’s governorship aspirant form the region, a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, saying he is not on ground at home.
One such political heavyweight from Aguata, Chief Ifeanyi Eduogu (Ogbata oluo Umuchu) made the pronouncement on Monday when Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was hosted by some key stakeholders in the Area where Aguata stakeholders threw their weight behind the Senator.
Elated by the giant strides of Senator Ubah at the senate and his lofty vision for Anambra State, Chief Eduogu, a well-known APGA financier and grassroots mobilizer said:
“I have no choice; my people are demanding that the time has come to vote for an individual with the requisite track record of performance as opposed to party.
“They are unequivocal in their demand that we back you.”
Speaking about Soludo, he said:
“I watched with amusement earlier today where two of your brothers were struggling to resuscitate the dying governorship ambition of our son who unfortunately is not on the ground here in Aguata and what came to my mind was the biblical phrase about a man of God and his home town.
“As a major APGA stakeholder, I knew the force that you deployed here in the Aguata and the massive votes that were delivered to you.
“What then happens now that I have decided to also key in,” Chief Eduogu added.
Speaking further during the visit at his home, Eduogu opined that time has come for Ndi Anambra to elect their own governor without interference from political godfathers.
He added that Sen Ubah has all the necessary experience, expertise, vision and ideas that will raise the state to greater heights In all sectors of the state’s economy.
Another political heavyweights from the area, Chief Sunday Ndubuisi Chukwuji (Chinechendo Ogbunka), also ditched Soludo and joined the Young Progressives Party (YPP) fold, the party of Ifeanyi Ubah.
Aguata, it should be noted, is the Local Government of Prof. Soludo, the APGA aspirant in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.
The pronouncement was followed by an endorsement of the Senator resenting Anambra South at the National Assembly, thereby giving his governorship ambition a huge boost.
On his part, Senator Ubah expressed his joy at the organic endorsements he has been receiving from the masses while his opponents are busy entering into political deals with godfathers for endorsement.
He reaffirmed his belief that the Nov. 6th polls will be a competition between political godfathers and Ndi Anambra and that just as witnessed in the bible, the David (Ndi Anambra) will surely come out triumphant at the end of the day.
He promised his guests never to let them down and reaffirmed once again his earlier promise and firm resolve to conduct local government elections within his first six months in office.
