Soludo: The ‘beautiful bride’ of Anambra politics

By Christian Aburime

As we gradually move closer to the November 6, Anambra gubernatorial election the political actors and who is who in Anambra politics all seemed to have made the wise political decision to line up behind Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the leading All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, guber candidate.

From the foregoing, one can deduce that the political permutations in the ever dynamic Anambra politics is becoming clearer by the day and taking proper shape.

Just within a week, Soludo has received massive endorsements from key political Stakeholders and core APGA party leadership.

It has been one endorsement after another. Coming in torrents, cascading in a manner similar to the Guarara waterfalls and surging like the currents of an ocean wave. Moving like an unstoppable hurricane, sweeping across the entire state

Day after day, more endorsements, massive support and acceptance from all political zones keep coming the way of Soludo

In what political pundits have described as a political tsunami, Hon. Charles Chinwendu Odedo, recently led thousands of Supporters mainly from the All Progressive Alliance, APC and other political parties in Idemili South and North LGAs to join APGA in solidarity and support of Soludo’s governorship ambition at Nnobi

At the grand event, Hon. Charles Odedo, a two term Federal House of Representatives Member in the 6th and 7th Assembly and a grassroot political mobilizer, said he decided to join APGA with his thousands of Supporters primarily to support Soludo’s governorship ambition under the platform of the APGA party.

Hon. Odedo stated that Idemili North and South has the highest number of registered voters of over 300,00 and he promised to deliver 100,000 votes to APGA in support of Soludo

The following day, another political titan and heavyweight, former APGA National Chairman, Chief (Sir) Victor Umeh, (Ohamadike) hosted Soludo to a grand reception in his Aguluzoigbo country home in the presence of key APGA leaders and stakeholders to formally endorse Soludo as his choice to succeed Governor Willie Obiano

At the elaborate reception, Chief Victor Umeh made the now famous quote to APGA:

“We are looking for a candidate who can win the governorship election for us, not just who can win the primary. Soludo is the person who can win both the primary and the guber election for us with a landslide victory”

The astute politician described Soludo as the people’s choice and the best and most qualified worthy successor to Obiano.

Few days after, following the same sequence, Hon. Emeka Aforka, Deputy Majority Leader, Anambra House of Assembly, also hosted Soludo to another grand reception at his Ndiowu country home in Orumba North in company of other political gladiators and party leaders in that zone to endorse him as their choice for the position of governor in Anambra State

The Hon. Aforka’s endorsement carnival also featured Hon. Chinedu Obidiegwe, member representing Anambra East and West Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives with his teeming supporters; Chief (Mrs) Ifeoma Ekwueme, wife of former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme; the Igwe of Nanka, HRH Igwe Ezeilo (Obu-Nanka) and many other political heavyweights who all pledged their support to Soludo

As he continued to receive more and more endorsements, Chukwuma Soludo has also continued to express his profound gratitude and appreciation to all his hosts, Supporters and the people of Anambra State.

The former CBN governor has consistently re-assured APGA leadership and Ndi Anambra that his mission is to build on the legacies of Governor Willie Obiano by creating sustainable wealth that will further galvanize greater economic benefits for the good people of Anambra State

He has also further re-assured that under his stewardship if he becomes the governor with the people’s support, Anambra will become an oasis of opportunity where no one in the state may need not travel or go to Lagos or Abuja in search of greener pastures, adding that any Ndi Anambra who feels oppressed in anywhere in the world can conveniently come back home and still prosper in Anambra

Political followers of Anambra politics have also predicted that with the current wave of endorsements coming the way of Soludo from all the political quarters across the state, more of such endorsements are bound to follow in the coming days!

Come June 23, 2021; the APGA party delegates should do the needful by ensuring Soludo emerges as the party flagbearer, and on November 6, Ndi Anambra should come out en masse and vote comprehensively for Soludo !!!!
