The Horizon Group , a support group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) to tell the people of Anambra how they plan to take the state from the lull she has suffered in governance in the last four years to qualitative governance, instead of engaging in lies, campaign of calumny and tiring mudslinging.
The group stated this in accordance with its belief that elections will always be about issues that would impact the electorate and not blabbing repeatedly n Nigerians how it plans to move from the near zero governance of the past six years of the Jonathan Administration to good and purposeful governance, instead of engaging in perpetual and tiring mudslinging.”We believe that elections should be about issues that will be beneficial to the electorate, not the scarecrow tactics presently been employed by the ruling party” Based on this, it is time for APGA to end the use of bromides and tell us why it deserves a second chance to salvage whatever remains of the damages it has done to the state’s infrastructure, healthcare, education and the state of the civil service.” The group said in a statement issued by its coordinator, Igboeli Arinze.
The group noted that it was quite saddening that while Ndi Anambra groaned repeatedly from the failures of Obiano, the fundamentals of the campaign of calumny against Dr. Tony Nwoye by APGA is to largely distract the electorate from hearing the Nwoye message of hope as well as paint Obiano’s failures as successes.
”In both instances, the ruling party in APGA has failed, as Ndi Anambra have refused to fall prey to the litany of lies propagated by APGA, while both Nwoye and the APC have remained focused on one thing , and that is telling Ndi Anambra, that the state can do better than she is doing now.” Arinze said
“We are asking what happened to over 465 billion Naira that accrued to the state under the watch of Governor Willie Obiano? Obiano should tell us why the state’s infrastructural development does not seem to tally with such funds.”
”Ndi Anambra are asking: Governor Obiano, what happened to the quality of our state’s infrastructure? State of education? State of our health care facilities? What has happened to the search for the culprits of the sacrilegious killings in St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozubulu?
”The truth is that Governor Obiano does not have any response to these questions but have sadly engaged in muckraking in the course of these campaigns”.
