Supreme Court Adjourns Dasuki’s Appeal Hearing Till January


The case involving The federal Government and former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki, retd, has been adjourned

till January 25.

The Supreme Court, on Thursday, adjourned hearing on appeal the detained former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki, retd, lodged against the Federal Government, till January 25.

Dasuki who served as the NSA under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan is challenging his continued detention despite the fact that he was granted bail by three different trial courts.

The former NSA is facing two separate charges before the Federal Capital Territory High Court at Maitama over alleged illegal diversion of about $2.1billion meant for the pruchase of arms.

He is equally on trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges bordering on money laundering and his alleged illegal possession of fire arms to combat terrorism in the North-East.

Though he was released on bail by the three courts, Dasuki has been in detention since November 3, 2015.

The ex-NSA was on December 29, 2015, re-arrested by operatives of the Department of State Service immediately he was released from Kuje Prison upon perfecting all his bail conditions.

The ECOWAS court had in a judgment on October 4, 2016, ordered the Federal Government to immediately release him from detention, an order FG refused to comply with.
