Tambuwal Set To Dump APC, As 21 Sokoto Assembly Members Defect To PDP

All appears set for Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress [APC] for the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] after about 18 members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Tuesday afternoon, announced their official decamping from the APC to the PDP.

Our correspondent, Uche Ugboaja reliably gathered that the Sokoto State governor’s official announcement could be made in a matter of hours as he has expressed his dissatisfaction with the actions of security operatives who act like political agents of attack in the hands of the federal government.

It has been over two weeks now since news of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives broke over his planned move to dump the ruling APC alongside several aggrieved members of the party.

The aggrieved members had broken out to form a parallel Reformed All Progressives Congress [R-APC] led by Alhaji Buba Galadima.

The formal announcement by majority of the state legislators has clarified the political future of the Sokoto state governor who had recently asked Nigerians to reject any form of ‘Prison Yard’ like democracy under the APC administration.

That was the governors reaction to the purported impeachment plot against Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue state who was the first governor to dump the embattled ruling APC.
