He killed the joy we once had when he was elected governor, shattered the hopes rekindled, and also burnt expectations nurtured by the Edo people. – The author
Adams Aliu Oshiomole
Who had ever thought a former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, now a sitting Governor, would do nothing about creating employment for Edo people.
The election won by Gov. Adams Aliu Oshiomole in 2007, brought so much joy, hope and expectations to Edo people. They thought their prayers had been answered and their tears swiped out, never did they know that their joy, hope and expectations would be cut short.
Surprises manned with deceit awaited the Edo people.
They thought as a former NLC President who had made so much soul moving and body thrilling speeches as a former labour leader, would do greatly in job creation.
In 2007, campaign promises were made by Governor Adams Aliu OSHIOMOLE in the creation of Employment and Empowerment for our steaming youths and graduates in Edo State.
However, since the inception of his government for over seven (7) years, employment for young graduates and empowerment programs for youths have never been done.
No industry has been created nor built; young graduates leave the higher institutions with no hope for employment.
Parents who have struggled to train their children, still struggle to feed, clothe and house them years after they have graduated.
Edo state is presently engulfed in unemployment, where able bodied adults still depend on their ageing and struggling parents for survival.
This has led to the present menace of heighten cultism, thuggery and taunting in Edo State, all supported by the governor.
This is very sad and painful… To know that a former NLC president will do this never crossed anyone’s mind.
It is crystal clear that the Government led by Comrade Governor Adams Aliu Oshiomole, a former labour leader has no vision for job creation and youth empowerment in Edo State.
His government has failed men, women, children, youths and Edo people in the creation of jobs.
He killed the joy we once had when he was elected governor, shattered the hopes rekindled, and also burnt expectations nurtured by the Edo people.
He increased our tears…
Should we the Edo people sit on the fence and allow this to continue, while we suffer and cry in silence? Should we sit and not speak, but do something in changing our life’s and state for good?
I believe the time has come for all of us to ‘man-up’ and turn things around.
The time for true change has come.
Together let’s stand with one voice to end our sufferings, tears and pain. Let’s make a decision for our future, let’s vote “True Change”.
A government with a VISION for EMPLOYMENT and YOUTH EMPOWERMENT.
