In exercise of our obligations to all members of our great party, we shall take responsibility for actions of Hon Mrs Ekwunife since becoming our member and not before.
Anambra State Chapter of APC wishes to thank the generality of our membership and the Anambra State people for the massive support given in demonstration of the right of Hon Mrs Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) to leave a political party that has chosen to oppress a brainy woman and anchor in the safety of a dynamic party, APC which she acknowledges ‘has an admirable chain of structures, a leader that has capacity, and a membership bound together by love, not found elsewhere’.
Ekwunife’s observations are spot-on, and strike at values which we in APC hold dear and wish to continue to hold.
In line with this premise, we acknowledge the reasoning of an overwhelming number that , sitting back to fight in a dying party rather than move ,just to avoid being accused of moving party will only overheat the polity and add no value.
This group, which by our checks are far more in number has humored attempts at personal attacks, rather than objective and constructive criticisms , from a segment of politicians with vested interest in a particular candidate with large, yet unfolding integrity issues has defied all ethics in their shooting of poisoned arrows at an APC amazon.
For us, the reggae is over and it is time to play the blues. The honeymoon is over!
In exercise of our obligations to all members of our great party, we shall take responsibility for actions of Hon Mrs Ekwunife since becoming our member and not before. We shall bring her back to line if she misses her track. We shall demand her obedience to the letters and spirit of APC constitution, Code of Ethics and all sub-laws of the party.
But in return, we owe Ekwunife ,not just as a woman that has since become sharper, more intelligent more dynamic ,more relaxed , and even prettier because of the environment that our party offered her above other platforms she is learning to forget, but because as our member she deserves undiluted protection from personal insults and unethical attacks.
Consequently, while we will answer all civil and well-worded enquiries on our new amazon, we will not tolerate any hate campaign or off-the –mark attack on her.
Those who insist on going the old way after this will for every ‘bullet’ fired at Ekwunife, which of course cannot penetrate receive seven ‘missiles’ from us.
This protection which we owe her as our member from bitter people who now realize what they have lost because we cherish it, must be distinguished from the upcoming primaries for purposes of fielding a substitute candidate to replace Senator Chris Ngige, as that process is guided delicately and religiously by our constitution and the fair process will naturally throw up a senatorial candidate for Anambra Central behind who all of us will queue.
Once again we urge Anambra Central voters and residents to ignore emergency pocket lawyers, going around in ‘unlawyerly’ attire, constituting charge-and- bail sessions to discuss which candidate should be excluded from the election and take full assurance that APC is fully in the race to win.
Those who have issues with the participation and plan of APC to win the Anambra Central senatorial seat know the right steps to take, rather than disturbing public peace and advertising their fears.
Anambra Central is better off knowing what party they are voting for in this season of confessions on commercial endorsements of one party by another and failing to declare the endorsement profit.
