Tinubu In Closed-Door With Buhari Over Ambode [Update]
The All Progressives Congress [APC] national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly taken the effort to oust Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to the presidency in Abuja.
Tinubu , on Thursday, held a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari allegedly over the re-election bid of Governor Ambode.
Story was rife on the media after Tinubu endorsed Olusola Sanwoolu as the next governor of Lagos State.
Party loyalists, especially loyalists to Asiwaju, who himself was a former governor of the state, accompanied Sanwoolu during collection of nomination form at the Lagos APC secretariat.
Tinubu is said to be against Ambode’s re-election bid in 2019 over some undisclosed differencies, though Ambode denied the rift.
It was however reported that the governor had rallied Abuja for support after his rejection by party leaders in Lagos.
A source in the presidency who spoke with Daily Independent said he is hopeful that the crisis between Tinubu and his estranged godson would be amicably resolved after the meeting with the president.
Confirming the incident, Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation posted on his Twitter handle as shown below:
