Transform Nigeria Condemns intimidation, harassment of whistle blower by Police

Transform Nigeria Citizens Initiative has condemned the intimidation and harassment of a whistle blower, Dr. George Davidson by Nigerian Police following his revelation of a grade level officer in Civil Service who worth over N500 million, among other scandalous exposures.
The group in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by its National coordinator demanded for the immediate release of Dr. Davidson from Police custody with immediate effect so that his family members will be able to treat him from injuries sustained when men of the Special Anti-Robbery and Kidnapping Squad, SARS, picked him up at his Abuja residence.
The group lamented that the action of the Police against Dr. Davidson will discourage many people that want to blow the whistle on corruption in their environments.
The statement reads,” It has come to our attention how Nigerian Police arrested Dr. Davidson in Gestapo styles few days back in his Abuja residence few days after exposing level 8 civil servant who also a director of a private company while in public service, worth over N500 million.
“The harassment, intimidation and abuse of Dr. Davidson are one act of impunity too many which does not augur well for the image of Nigeria in the International Community.
“As a group fighting for the fundamental human right of every Nigerian, we condemn the intimidation; abuse and molestation by Nigerian Police of Dr Davidson when they whisked him away from in his residence in Abuja few days after exposing corruption in Nigeria Civil Service. Dr. Davidson deserves commendation not the humiliation that he was subjected to by the Nigerian Police.
“We hereby demand for his release with without further delay.”
