Former Delta State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s hatchet man, Prince Uzoma Idaboh has been arraigned by the Nigerian Police Zone 5, Benin Edo state, for criminal conspiracy and forgery of electoral materials.

The serial forger was picked up by a crack squad of the police Criminal Investigative bureau in Asaba Delta State.

Prince Idaboh who is the owner of Nelrose Hotels, Asaba and an aspirant in the 2015 Delta State House of Assembly election DTHA in Aniocha North Local Government Area was arraigned at the Issele-Uku Magistrate Court in Delta North before Chief Magistrate Ewerebor in a case between the Commissioner of police versus Uzoma Idaboh.

The charges which borders on the forgery of signatures and names of PDP delegates in Aniocha-North LGA, to challenge the victory of Engineer Emmanuel Emeka Nwaobi, the winner and PDP flagbearer of  Aniocha-North House of Assembly primary election.

When the charges read before the accused, who was placed at in the duck pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges of criminal conspiracy and forgery of PDP Primary election result sheets that was conducted last year at the Martin’s Primary School, Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

In his application for bail, Counsel to the accused person Barrister Kelechi Nnadi pleaded with the court to grant him bail, on the premise that the crime he allegedly committed was a bail-able offence and  one in line with the law, despite its gravity.

However prosecution counsel ASP. Ekponmwose didn’t oppose the bail application.

In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Ewerebor granted the accused person Prince Uzoma Idaboh bail in the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira Only (N50,000.00) and a credible surety who must be resident in Issele-Uku. He was also requested to deposit his international passport with the court registrar.

The case was then adjourned to the 18th February, 2016 for further hearing.

Gongnews.net last year reported that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s of Delta state’s hatchet-man Uzoma Idaboh is swimming in the allegations of forging signatures of PDP delegates and elders in his bid to challenge Aniocha-North House of Assembly Primaries.

Idaboh is the Chairman/Managing Director, Nelrose Hotel Limited and former Special Adviser on Special Duties to Governor Uduaghan.

The allegations are that Uzoma Idaboh has orchestrated the forgery of signatures and names of PDP delegates in Aniocha-North LGA, to challenge the victory of Engineer Emmanuel Emeka Nwaobi, the winner and PDP flagbearer of Aniocha-North House of Assembly primary election.

The governor’s hatchet-man, who lost out woefully at the primaries has gone further to canvass grounds to perpetrate his acts in court to seek for the cancellation of the primaries. The emergence of Emmanuel Emeka Nwaobi, the winner and the PDP flagbearer has not gone down well with the former Special Adviser on Special Duties to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Idaboh is being accused to have forged the signatures of Prince Walter Ezieshi, Mr. Peter Nwaolai, Mrs. Offor Nkiru, Mrs. Lilian Okafor, Mrs Esther Egbe, in the purported advertorial in Vanguard Newspaper of Wednesday 10th December 2014, which appeared on page 34.

The election which was conducted under the leadership of (PDP) electoral Committee Chairman, for Delta State House of Assembly Primaries, Hon. Bernard Ochepa, and his Secretary, Charles Memegbo and Chief Pere-Egbe Ajatobou, has been accepted by the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, which INEC has since validated Nwaobi as the authentic winner of the just concluded primaries.

The loser of the just concluded primaries who worked as Ibori’s aide in the first dispensation was booted out of office by Gov. Uduaghan. All efforts to reach the former special adviser for his comments proved abortive as he refused to pick his calls.

In a desperate bid to cause mayhem and disrupt the forthcoming general election in Delta State through the instrumentality of the law court, he filed a suit at the Federal High Court Abuja.

He is praying the court to set aside the results of the just concluded primaries, and that INEC should declare him as the authentic winner, that the national Secretariat of the PDP should not submit the name of Engineer Emmanuel Emeka Obi as the supposed winner of the election.

His fulcrum is relying on the advertorial he sponsored through a pseudo name: Concern Citizens, Elders, Delegates, and co-aspirants of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State.

It will be recalled that he failed to rig the primaries in his favour, in which he maximised the powers of the state through governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, who hijacked the results of the primaries from the Chairman of the electoral committee Hon. Bernard Ochepa at the Governors Lodge in Asokoro, to substitute the winner with Uzoma Idaboh who lost out from the primaries.

The desperate quest to power was vehemently refuted through the objective reportage of the primaries by the media which later paved way for the PDP leadership to reject the result submitted by the Governor and his acolytes.
