Umeaba takes over Anambra PDP, nullifies ward congress held Friday

The new chairman of Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chukwudi Umeaba has taken over the affairs of the party in the state.
Chief Umeaba who is a loyalist of Dr Chris Ubah, Eselu Uga held a press conference on Saturday at Awka, the state capital.
During the conference, he gave accounts of the issues leading to the court judgement that sacked Sir Ndubuisi Nwobu and returned him as the acting Chairman of PDP in the state.
Speaking to the media today, Umeaba made the following pronouncements:
- That he suspended the ward congress scheduled to elect a 3 man ad hoc delegates for the June 26 governorship primaries.
- His office will contact the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party to give a new date for the ward congresses to elect the new ward delegates.
- His office will marshal out new programmes for the growth of PDP in Anambra state.
Concluding, Umeaba appealed to all the party members to remain calm and pray for peace and progress of the party.
