Uniformed Agencies Rush Local Garment Factories For Uniforms, Create Jobs, Boost Economy

Nigerian uniformed agencies have moved to create more jobs and boost our economy following President Muhammadu Buhari’s order to stop importation of uniforms and source them locally.

ElombahNews gathered that the directive has started yielding positive results, as NYSC has contracted the Calabar Garment Factory (CGF) in Cross River State, to produce 8,000 uniforms for Youth Corpers.

The Nigerian Peace Corps recently ordered 40,000 uniforms from same factory in Calabar, just as the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and other uniformed agencies have started patronizing the CGF.

Plans have also reached top levels for production of 100,000 uniforms for the Nigeria Airforce, after an inspection of the facility last year by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar.

Nigeria isn’t where she ought to be yet, but surely, the nation is making huge progress and deserves support from all well-meaning Nigerians.
