Unilag Warns Ghana Government Over Prof Nwagbara
The University of Lagos has issued warning threat to the government of Ghana over the well-being of its their former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Augustine Uzoma Nwagbara
The University said the government will have questions to answer if anything untoward should happen to the former Vice Chancellor in a statement issued by the Teachers’ Union of the University.
The Chairman of the Union, Dele Ashiru, called on the University of Education-Winneba (UEW) and relevant government agencies to ensure the safety of Prof. Nwagbara.
UEW had dismissed the Nigerian Professor earlier in the week after he bashed Ghanaians over profiling of Nigerians in the country in an issue that involved a few Nigerians.
The institution, in a statement, found Nwagbara culpable of gross misconduct following what it regarded as “unguarded statement”.
“The University is highly disturbed by the huge embarrassment his unguarded statement has brought to the institution, the Ministry of Education, and indeed, Ghana as a whole.
“The University after subjecting Prof. Augustine Uzoma Nwagbara to the internal disciplinary process finds him culpable of gross misconduct and has, accordingly dismissed him,” the statement had said.
