UPDATE: Buhari swears in Tanko Mohammed as CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has, on Wednesday, sworn in Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Justice Muhammad who took over from the immediate past and suspended CJN, Walter Onnoghen, became the 18th CJN at the ceremony which took place in State House, Abuja.

Muhammad had been on acting capacity since January, 2019, but was was screened and cleared by the Senate last week for appointment.
