UPDATE: Court Strikes Out Certificate Fraud Case Against Kwara Governor
The Kwara State High Court in has, on Wednesday, struck out the certificate forgery suit filed against the governor, Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Razaq.
The court dismissed the case after the claimant withdrew the case.
The presiding judge, Justice Adenike Akinpelu struck out the case after a Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] chieftain in the state who instituted the case, Adekunle Oluwafemi Abraham, told the court he had presented a notice of withdrawal.
Abraham, a member of the Bukola Saraki-led PDP, filed a case alleging that AbdulRazaq did not have the requisite qualifications to run for the office of Governor.
Justice Akinpelu, striking the case out, said that the efforts of one Olusola Olaseinde who wanted to join the suit were inconsequential since the original case has been withdrawn.
Abraham, it was revealed, withdrew the case after it was gathered that the West Africa Examination Council [WAEC] has forwarded a confirmation to the court that the governor possesses genuine certificate from the examination body.
