Uwajumogu Resigns As APC Nat’l Convention Scribe [Doc]
Blames Governor Okorocha
The Senator representing Okigwe Senatorial Zone in the Senate, Benjamin Uwajumogu has resigned his position as the Secretary of the All progressives Congress [APC] National Convention.
Senator Uwajumogu’s resignation was made public to newsmen on Saturday, June 2.
Citing his reasons for resignation, Uwajumogu said the extension of the Convention from June 2 to June 23, 2018, will affect his constituency tasks as well as his legislative duties in the Senate.
Noteworthy, however, is his reference to Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha as one of his principal reasons.
He said that Okorocha has generated and stoked ill blood in the State chapter of the APC, thus, he hopes his resignation will assuage and calm frayed nerves.
That, he hopes, will enable the party to move forward in the state as one family.
It could be recalled that the Imo State governor has been at the neck of his perceived enemies following the APC Congresses in the state.
His latest victim was Chief Ifeanyi Godwin Ararume who was suspended by the party in his LGA, Isiala Mbano.
ElombahNews reported that “Governor Okorocha could not swallow the bitter pills handed him by Ararume and others during the recently-concluded Imo State APC congresses.
“The former Senator was suspended due to various acts of indiscipline, anti-party activities and sundry offences,” as alleged against him.
