Whistleblowers ask IGP to move arrested suspected kidnappers from Benue to Abuja
A Civil Society Organisation (CSO), Save the Soul Transparency and Eagles Eyes International Foundation has asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Usman Baba to move two arrested suspected kidnappers from Benue State to the Police Special Tactical Squad (STS) unit in Abuja.
The CSO made the call in a latter addressed to the Inspector General of Police with reference number: ST/2000/1121/, dated 12th August, 2021.
Titled “Request for the Transfer of the Case of Kidnap Suspects (Sunday Itodo AKA Abah Anne) & AME Agada Aka Akin From OGBADIBO Police Division to FIB- STS, Abuja,” the letter reads:
“We request that the above kidnapper suspects be transferred to FIB-STS Abuja for a discreet Investigations.
“They were arrested on Monday the 9th August,2021 after the kidnapped incident that occurred on the 7th August, 2021 at about 7:00pm at Ahor Ogbo market, Itabano Owukpa, Ogbadibo LGA, Benue state.
“They are currently in the custody of the Divisional Police station, Ogbadibo LGA Benue state.
“There was another kidnap case a week before this and Ransom was collected in all.”
The Organisation did not state details of their request but simply prayed for the transfer the case to the department that has the experts to carry out advanced investigations on the suspects.
