Why Buhari may not fight corruption (part 1): Tinubu

100

*The Case of Senator Tinubu

When Tinubu returned from exile, impeccable sources revealed that his only known property was the Ikeja home of the late Alhaja where he lived and from where he surreptitiously began his plot to seize power in Lagos state.

As late as 1998, when Senator Tinubu returned quietly from exile, impeccable sources have revealed that his only known property was the Ikeja home of the late Alhaja where he lived and from where he surreptitiously began his plot to seize power in Lagos state.

Today, after 8 years @ the helm of power, he parades a humungous business empire of intimidating assets that are tied to his name. Just take a look at the massive business empire of Tinubu which he acquired in just 8 years as governor

1. Lekki Concession Company;

2. Maiyegun Land Project;

3. The Nation newspaper;

4. Rennaisance Hotel;

5. Tejuoso Market (Joint Ownership;

6. Ikeja Shopping Mall;

7. TV Continental;

8. Converted Lagos Poly land for TVC;

9. Radio Continental;

10. School of Nursing Building, Awolowo rd Lagos

11. Alpha Beta Company-Tax Collector of Lagos state

12. N4 billion government financed property Queens Drive, Lagos;

13. Royal Gardens Estate, Lekki;

14. Choice Lagos State Government Lands.

All these are acquired/stolen from the patrimony of Lagos state

15. His wife is now life member of the senate representing Lagos state

The above breakdown of Tinubu’s assets is just a tip of the iceberg. With such a corrupt politician looking over the shoulders of President Buhari, does anybody expect Buhari to be thorough in his war against corruption, more so, since PMB’s presidential campaign was bankrolled by the like of Senator Tinubu?

Today, Senator Tinubu is so frightened of President Buhari that the once combative, loquacious and pugnacious politician has suddenly become a lapdog of President Buhari. He is scared that any FIM/ noise from him in regard to the undemocratic acts of PMB, may force PMB to focus the Klieg light of corruption war on him.

Let me quickly say that if for any reasons the like of Bola Tinubu is probed by PMB, most Nigerians will simply faint, collapse and die if they are told what an individual has done to loot Lagos State blind.

If Buhari really wants to fight corruption, he should not be deceived by the good-boy disposition of Tinubu.

PMB should just set up an Independent Counsel or special court for corruption cases to descend on the like of TINUBU and several others whose names will be mentioned in the subsequent editions of this review.

This is just PART 1.
