Why I had 8,000 aides — Governor Ben Ayade

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has explained why he appointed over 8,000 people as special advisers and personal assistants during his first term.

Speaking in Calabar at the pre-inaugural event for his second term, Ayade said the gesture ensured that every household in all parts of the state did not go to sleep with empty stomach.

“I committed myself by expanding government to ensure that at least a member of each family was represented in my government to earn salary,” he said.
