We’re Yet To Confirm Anambra’s Oil Producing Status —Dep Gov
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nkem Okeke, on Tuesday, said the state was yet to confirm its oil producing status from the federal government.
He said as of the time of filing this report, there was no written document before him confirming the state as an oil producing state.
He said the state would liaise with the federal government to confirm the truthfulness of the matter.
He said ,”One Chief Mike Emuh passed such information yesterday, but we are yet to confirm that from the Federal Government.
Dr Okeke’s rebuttal followed alleged “official” statement that Anambra State is now an oil producing state.
According to news making rounds, President Muhammadu Buhari “has granted this long standing request”.
According to a peddler of the rumour, President Buhari did “what our own Ebele Azikiwe could not do”.
The peddlers continued: “No Nigerian President since 1999 has remembered Ndigbo in infrastructural development like President Buhari.
“This is the truth which many corrupt Igbo leaders are hiding from us.
“These corrupt Igbo leaders that defrauded our common treasury since 1999 and enriched only themselves are only preaching hate to us.
“They know they failed, and to avoid being exposed, they turned into ethnic champions and filled our hearts with hate.”
The rumour bearer ended with a “Thank you Mr President. Thank you, APC.”
